I want to help make Genesee County a better place to work and live. My goal is to give all our residents the opportunity to hope and dream for a brighter future by promoting economic development and investing in education and vocational training programs for our young people to sustain vibrant and safe communities.

About Gary

Gary is the son of Paul, a Chevy tech worker, and Margie, a nurse. Gary is married to Lori, his wife of 38 years. His grown children are Kyle Peppin, a community school director, and Kara DeRade, a nurse, who are both DHS alums as well. He also has a granddaughter, Annie. Gary and Lori have two furry family members Chewy and Oliver.  

Committed to Serving the Community

 Peppin is a long-time member of St. John’s parish and has served in many capacities there. Gary has served as a reader and Eucharistic Minister Captain as well as participate in committee work, such as Sports Council, Evangelization, and Building Committee. 

Experienced in the Public and Private Sector

 

  • Gary Peppin brings over 40 years of private sector experience to the table, a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Michigan State University, and 5 Years on Davison City Council.
  • As a member of the Davison City Council, Gary Peppin helped spearhead efforts to save the water department from bankruptcy, create a capital improvement plan and re-develop and modernize the downtown to attract small businesses.
  • During his City Council tenure, he served on Finance and Policy Committees, and worked with other municipalities as a member of the Genesee County Small Cities and Villages Association, which he also chaired, 2015-2016.
